A couple of weeks ago during school holidays, we took my mother and the boys to Wave Rock. It’s the first time for my mother and the boys to go to Wave Rock, and second time for my husband and me. Wave Rock is about 4 hours drive from Perth. There are also public bus service and regular tourist coaches twice a week to Wave Rock. Wave rock is actually a natural rock that is shaped like an ocean wave. It is about 14m high and 110m long. Don’t get your hopes too high because when you get there and see the real thing, you might be a tad disappointed. It’s great for a photo though!
We decided to camp a night at the Wave Rock Caravan Park which is located very very close to Wave Rock itself, just 5 minutes walk. The caravan park has also cabins, so for those who don’t fancy staying in the tent you can book yourself into a cabin. The facilities are pretty good. It has a camp kitchen, clean showers and toilets and also a swimming pool. There are one or two restaurants and a pub near by. We were happy that night to cook and had our meal alfresco and slept under the stars 🙂 In fact, the boys and my mother slept in the tent while my husband and I slept at the back of our ute in the swag…cozy!
