fashion fridays: race ready

fascinator9The spring racing carnival has begun! And the word racing is not only applied to the horses, for women there are lots of racing going on too.  Racing to the beauty salon to get the hair done, racing to have perfect mani-pedi for the day, and of course the most important thing racing to get the gorgeous outfit that match with the elegant hats or fascinator.  As you know, fashion is a major thing of the spring carnival!

Check it out some of the outfits and fascinators/hats for the carnival below, from elegant and sophisticate until edgy, funny, and ridiculous styles 🙂fascinator7

Are you participating in this spring carnival? If yes, what are you going to wear? Do you prefer hat or fascinator? For me, personally, I would wear fascinator if the event is inside and hat if it is outside.

No matter what your wardrobe choice is, remember that you have to feel comfortable in what you wearing.  Otherwise, have fun and enjoy the carnival.  Indulge yourself in those pretty little canapes and sweet champagne! But, don’t forget to pick the kids up from school though 🙂

(disclaimer: The Melbourne Cup is Australia’s major thorough bred horse race.  Known as “the race that stops a nation”.  Conducted annually, the event starts at 3pm (EST) on the first Tuesday in November.  Melbourne Cup day is a public holiday in Melbourne metropolitan and some part of Victoria but not for other states according to Wikipedia.  Besides Melbourne Cup, there are also Derby Day, Oak Day and Stakes Day.)

Sama-sama males dandan bok! Payah memang kami berdua ini..😁
Kalo masalah kelas berat mah sama lah bu!

    1. Iya ya Nis, si Kate kan suka banget sepertinya pake topi2 gitu ya.
Ahh…aku juga ga ngerti koq cuma karna sering dapet undangan Melbourne Cup dari kantor mister or temen2 disekolah the boys lama2 jadi lumayan tau lah Nis. Yg paling aku tau sih, pada dasarnya spring carnival itu ajang untuk para wanita dress up, pake topi or fascinator cantik, sambil menikmati lunch dan pasang ‘bet’ or taruhan untuk fav horse mereka yg bakalan menang 😃

Or some mums at the boys’ school suka juga meng-organise acara Melbourne Cup. Pokoknya restaurants dan beauty salon busy deh kalo uda Melbourne Cup! 🙂
